How Do I Calculate My Golf Handicap?

Per the USGA Rules of Handicapping, the most accurate way of determining your golf handicap is to take 20 scores and average out the best 8 scores.

As you can see above, we’re only using 5 scores. Simply because you can still get a very accurate report on your handicap using 5 scores, and from there you can go about setting some goals and inevitably lowering your handicap.

What is the Golf Handicap Formula?

The actual formula to calculate your golf handicap is as follows:

Course Handicap = [Handicap Index * (SR / 113)] + (CR- Par)

What Does Your Golf Handicap Mean?

Basically, your handicap number is “golf” telling you where you are at in your golf game.

Lesser-skilled golfers will have HIGHER handicaps (i.e. 20+), while LOWER handicaps are the more skilled golfers.

Pro golfers actually have what is called a “Plus(+) handicap.

Find Your Handicap, Set Your Goals

Measuring success means setting goals.

So, now that you know you handicap it’s time to set some goals and improve your golf game.
